Tri-ICT focus: Smart Cities

Think and Do Thank Roundtables

Through a cycle of roundtables, policy makers, experts and innovation facilitators from Friuli Venezia Giulia and Carinthia will discuss cases of innovative application of ICT solutions to ehnance cities performaces and become SMART.

The focus of the Think and Do Thank Roundtables is to review the latest ICT innovations stemming from research activities, and to attract local authorities and lead users in the cross border area to engage them in pilot projects and in the take up of the most mature emerging solutions.

Innovative applications of ICT are designed for optimal management of urban infrastructure and resources – including energy efficiency and renewables, water, transport, and land use planning – as well as for addressing pollution (water, air, soil, noise) and waste. Emphasis is put on cross-sectorial approaches minimising as much as possible rebound effects.

Roundtables will lead to the definition of a list of measures to take to further stimulate the market for innovative ICT solutions in the cross bordering area.

Roundtables will also provide an opportunity to present relevant European financing programmes for research, networking and deployment activities and set the basis for designing new project ideas for interregional cooperation.
